Abstract
Abstract Africa has historically been referred to as a continent with rich natural resources but with high levels of poverty. Indeed, Africa is considered to be well-endowed with minerals, including fossil fuels, although the exact economic potential of these resources is not known. New discoveries of oil and gas in Africa—in locations never before thought to hold such resources in significant amounts—prove that the continent is still “virgin” in many aspects regarding exploration and exploitation of oil and gas resources.
