Abstract

This article reports the experience with a group of teenager’s drug users in a Fanzine Workshop, in the workplace, in March 2008 in the company's admission of adolescents from an Integrated Center for Psychosocial Care of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, producing an independent magazine. Usually these adolescents have a life in which addiction is ultimately only one of the problems that came to be added in their lives. Fanzine Workshop was established as a powerful tool of transformation as a process of education, an alternative approach to nursing work, with space for expression of different views and perceptions with discussions by teenagers, encouraging them to use the concepts discussed in new situations, exploring the collective construction of knowledge in this specific social reality, and contribute to the awareness of chemical dependency. The pedagogical practice also served to mediate for the year of production of scientific knowledge about adolescents and their own condition, the starting point towards more effective with respect to a life as healthy as possible within their means. The positive and encouraging environment favored the creative potential of young people in expressing their ideas and emotions as they learned by listening to peers and in assessing the generation of materials about their problems.
