Abstract

The offset raster unit described is designed to increase the number of mass spectra which can be displayed on an oscilloscope by 'offsetting' the rastered sweeps. The spacing between sweeps can then be reduced without vertical merging of the mass spectra peaks. The unit has been developed to record data obtained from a time-of-flight mass spectrometer which is used to monitor gas reactions initiated by flash photolysis or occurring in a shock wave.
