Abstract

Have you ever taken psychedelic drugs? Perhaps you missed out. If so, consider attending Breaking Convention, the “first medical convention on the use of psychedelic drugs in the UK for 40 years”. Ben Sessa is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Taunton. He writes that this meeting is “dedicated to exploring the latest research into psychotherapy using psychedelic drugs such as LSD, psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA”. He goes on to say that this field of inquiry is “fast becoming an increasingly important topic for the future of psychiatric practice”. Will hallucinogens become prescription medicines within the next decade? If you want to find out, go to the University of Kent in Canterbury, April 2–3, 2011.
