Abstract

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has changed the way our Nation deals with troubled youth. Juvenile Justice systems that were previously regarded as intransigent, bureaucratic, and punitive now emphasize treatment and rehabilitation through community-based programs and services.
