Abstract

Implanon remains as an important component of the available means of hormonal contraception. This rod, implanted subdermally, has the highest rate of effectiveness of available contraceptive methods. It is recommended that the Implanon be placed in the nondominant arm, approximately 6 cm from the inner condyle of the humerus and in between the biceps and triceps muscles. These are the only specific directions for locating the insertion of the implant [ [1] Implanon package insert Organon. Google Scholar ].
