Abstract

We present a two-parameter family of πK → πK amplitudes with two π or a π and a K off the mass shell. They describe scattering with arbitrary daughter states and reduce to a finite series of Veneziano-like terms (satisfying the Adler-zero condition) when at least one momentum is on a particle or daughter pole. They possess Bjorken limit behaviour in a finite region of the s t u plane. With one π or one K soft, they are consistent with u o + c u 8 symmetry breaking. The exact Bjorken limit behaviour determines one of the parameters. A modified KSFR relation, and calculations of c and ƒ k /ƒ +(0)ƒ π make possible a comparison with experiment.
