Abstract

Chromos Molecular Systems (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada) has developed a mouse artificial chromosome (MAC) that can be passed successfully from one generation of mice to the next. So far, Chromos has made no formal announcement of their achievement, but Carl Perez, Director of Projects at Chromos, confirms that the results of recently completed transgenic animal studies have been submitted to the journal Chromosome Research, and should be published within weeks.
