Abstract

The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) is a cost-effective and simple-to-implement technology for future energy generation. It has a comparable power conversion efficiency (PCE) to traditional silicon solar cells while having lower material and production costs. Fe2O3 nanoparticles were synthesized by photo irradiation method using complexes solution of iron. The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Uv.visable spectroscopy. Results show that nanoparticles have a uniform rhombohedral shape with an 11 to 29 nm average size. The hematite nanoparticles were applied to fabricate a novel Dye solar cell, with an energy conversion efficiency of about 2.5 % by (ITO/ ?-Fe2O3 Nps/ Dye (Rhodamine 6 G) /iodine / Ag film / ITO).
