Abstract

The method of optically detected ESR has been employed to investigate the excess electron capture by clusters of polar additions, such as water and alcohols. The concentration and temperature dependences of the signal intensity and linewidth of OD ESR for solvated electrons, and also their variations due to deuteration, have made it possible to suggest a mechanism of electron capture by clusters. Experimental ESR and ESE data have been compared.
