Abstract

Most of the commonly used antitubercular drugs are reported to be safe during pregnancy. There is very little risk of teratogenecity against isoniazid, rifampicin and ethambuto!. Streptomycin is known to cause VIII nerve and vestibular damage in the growing embryo. A case of ophthalmic foetal abnormality while the mother Was on ethambutol, rifampicin and isoniazid therapy during the first trimester of pregnancy is reported here.
