Abstract

The fact that only six years have elapsed since the first edition appeared speaks for the popularity of this book and its high value to the reader. In the new edition, the results of examinations with the scanning electron microscope, electron dense tracers, and freeze fracture etchings have been added along with many illustrations from electron microscopic examinations. This book is not only a superb presentation of histologic and anatomical findings but frequently gives a correlation to the clinical picture and to pathologic changes. It is undoubtedly the most important and valuable book on ocular anatomy and histology. Drs Jakobiec and Iwamoto have added a chapter on the adnexa oculi and this makes the book even more useful than the first edition.
