Abstract

The effective date for final orders regulating the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas on all leased areas of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) has been extended to October 1, 1979, the U.S. Geological Survey announced. Details about the extension have been published in the June 29,1979, issue of the Federal Register.Previously, the effective date for the orders had been announced for July 1,1979; however, an extension was considered necessary to allow lease operators time to prepare written detailed comments on the orders, to determine the impacts of the orders, and to develop procedures for their implementation.
