Abstract
SUB-SPHERICAL zoned nodules of diameter 13 cm to 1 m have been found embedded in well bedded, hard, pure, pelagic, forarniniferal calcilutite of Lower to Middle Miocene age. It is thought that these hitherto undescribed nodules from Malaita Island, Solomon Islands, may provide clues about the origin of chert.
