Abstract
Out of 70 tropical hydrophytes screened for vesicular-arbuscular associations (VAM), 33 harboured VAM fungi. Spores of the VAM fungi Entrophospora colombiana Spain and Schenck, Glomus aggregatum Schenck and Smith, G. claroideum Schenck and Smith, G. fasciculatum (Thaxter sensu Gerd) Gerd and Trappe, G. microaggregatum Koske, Gemma and Olexia and G. occultum Walker were isolated from aquatic sediments and E. schenckii Sieverding and Toro, G. aggregatum Schenck and Smith, G. ambisporum Smith and Schenck, G. fasciculatum (Thaxter sensu Gerd) Gerd Trappe, G. intraradices Schenck and Smith, G. occultum Walker and Sclerocystis pachycaulis Wu and Chen from wet soils.
