Abstract

A microcyclic rust fungus found naturally on Pancratium parviflorum in Israel had been described as Uromyces scillarum f.sp. pancratii . The similarity with U. scillarum is shown in teliospore morphology and dimensions, mode of teliospore germination and basidiospore formation, nuclear history through teliospore germination and formation of basidiospores, and the ability to infect Leopoldia eburnea (Liliaceae), the common host of all formae speciales of U. scillarum in Israel.
