Abstract
The capture of juvenile mackerel in Conception Bay, Nfld., during November 1968 represents the first documented record of the occurrence of 0-group mackerel in eastern Newfoundland waters. Their presence suggested the possibility of sporadic mackerel spawning in the area. This was confirmed by the capture of prespawning and spawning mackerel in Placentia Bay during early July 1970.
