Abstract
Two men who worked with pneumatic hammers developed Raynaud phenomenon and sclerodactylia. The development of cutaneous sclerosis in persons with occupational Raynaud phenomenon is believed to be an unusual event, but our experience with these two patients, plus consideration of occupational factors previously reported as important in the pathogenesis of scleroderma, support the hypothesis that use of vibrating tools, together with cold exposure, may in some instances precipitate the cutaneous changes of scleroderma.
