Abstract

ABSTRACT: The objective of this research is to determine the correlation between stress and the work environment of nurses who work at the PNP Regional Hospital. It is a study of correlational level, the Questionnaire was used as a technique and the DASS-21 Scale and the Work Climate Questionnaire (CL-SPC) were used as instruments, it was applied to 60 nurses. Results: The nurses who work at the PNP Regional Hospital in the city of Arequipa, who participated in the research, were between 20 and 49 years old, in an accumulated 65.0%; 86.7% are women, the marital status of married predominates (51.7%). The contract modality is appointed, and the service time ranges from 6 to 11 years in a cumulative of 65%. It is concluded that the predominant occupational stress is that 55% of the personnel affirm that they are often stressed and 25% occasionally are stressed with the current situation due to the pandemic. The prevailing work environment in 46.7% is unfavorable, 36.7% a medium level. The Spearman correlation coefficient is positively high between the variables occupational stress and work environment (rho=.086; p<0.01), which means that the lower the occupational stress, the worker experiences a better work environment.
