Abstract

ABSTRACT This article describes the development and current practices of occupational social workers in South Africa. As a means to accomplish this the author conducted in-depth interviews with social workers employed in work settings throughout South Africa. Workplace practices, education and training and the challenges facing occupational social workers in the New South Africa are explained and analyzed.
