Abstract

IT industry in Tamil Nadu is a huge industry and one of the fastest growing sectors driving employment and growth in modern India today. While employment in the IT sector has meant that young adults are reaching their career milestones and financial requirement much earlier than before, surveys and subjective evidence show that workers in the IT sector experience high levels of stress and its related disorders, musculoskeletal problems, headache primarily due to its contemporary work settings and also due to the continues work in the firm causes back pain, obesity, wrist pain, neck pain and cyber addiction at this young age itself. Employees are not only having the physical problems they also affected with the psychological problems. Physical problems happened not only because of continuous work, sometimes it happened due to the lack of ergonomics. It is the responsibility of employer and employees to safe guard the health. Safeguarding the health of youngsters employed in this growing economy becomes an occupational health challenge to public health specialists.
