Abstract

Descriptive design cross-sectional study was conducted in assess the occupational health hazards amongworkers in Al-Najaf in garment factory and its association with socio-demographic characteristics ofworkers in the province of Najaf during period from December 23th 2020 to February 9 the 2021. 180male and female workers were selected through non-probability sampling (purposive sampling) andthe data collected using the questionnaire that was designed earlier from three main parts, first partincluded socio-demographic data characteristic and the second part was included health care facilitiesthat include health services to workers and the three part (health hazards) and that consist of (physicalhazards, chemical hazards, biological hazards, psychological hazards The study found that the overallrisk score was moderate, the higher risk was for psychological risks, and the lowest risk was for safetymeasures and protective equipment, The overall hazard score was found to have a statistically significantrelationship with each job title and work location (P 0.05). Further research, as well as an educationprogram and regulations for the use of safety measures, were strongly recommended.
