Abstract

The accurate transfer of the interocclusal relationship is essential for providing ideal occlusion. In unilateral distal extension situations, it may be difficult to hand-articulate the casts accurately. In these instances, record bases and occlusion rims are generally fabricated. For implant-supported restorations, the record base can be screwed directly on the implant during the interocclusal recording procedure at a separate appointment. 1 Hobo S. Ichida E. Garcia L.T. However, this procedure can be time consuming and requires additional visits to the dental office; furthermore, patients may experience discomfort from procedures such as the repeated removal of the healing abutments.
