Abstract

Summary
This technique has provided a positive and stable occlusal plane to the prepared modified occlusal rim. There is no dependency on mechanical devices for locking and stabilizing this plane. When the occlusion rim is removed, a three-dimensional registration is provided (Fig. 10). The setting of the anterior teeth is facilitated and a permanent guide for any movement of the teeth in the wax is available (Fig. 11). The posterior teeth can be set and the mesiodistal and buccolingual curves may be developed and maintained (Fig. 12). The occlusal plane was developed with a gradual buccal cusp elevation from the plane, while the lingual cusps remain on the plane (Figs. 12 and 13). By unscrewing the 4 retentive screws, the stone core can be removed, labeled, and stored so that several restorations may proceed at the same time. It must be emphasized that with any change in vertical dimension, a new occlusal plane registration may be indicated.
