Abstract

New u.v.-absorbing stabilizers for polymers have been synthesized by using cooligomerization. The u.v.-absorbing structure (2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone) has been converted into a monomer by reacting it with acryloyl chloride; the reactivity of the resulting monomer has been studied and cooligomerization condition have been optimized when using n-butyl mercaptan as transfer agent.
