Abstract

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) disproportionally affects women with polycystic ovary syndrome, with more than a third of patients impacted. Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is an important metric of chronic disease, and women with PCOS have repeatedly been shown to experience lower HRQoL compared to the general population. A preliminary study revealed a relationship between an increased oxygen desaturation index on sleep studies and decreased HRQoL in women with PCOS, however the impact of OSA on HRQoL in this population remains poorly understood.
