Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the obstacles that limit the effective participation of Jordanian women in parliamentary life (1989-2021) as well as their satisfaction with their performance in parliamentary work. A questionnaire of three axes: obstacles before candidacy, obstacles after winning, and the extent of satisfaction with participation in parliament was designed as an instrument for this study. The participants were (71) women parliamentarians The study revealed that there were obstacles before running elections as well as after winning the parliamentary seat. The study also revealed that Jordanian women parliamentarians are satisfied with their performance. Several recommendations were put forth.
