Obstacles and Challenges to Library Service in Uganda

Abstract

Library Services in Uganda, Africa face many challenges. Uganda faces extreme poverty, with uneven distribution of resources. It is not only the country’s citizens that face financial challenges, but Ugandan government, publishing companies, and libraries. Through understanding the challenges in library service in Uganda, librarians worldwide may be inspired. After all, library service in Uganda thrives despite a challenging environment with obstacles at nearly every level. This paper will explore the challenges and obstacles around library services to Uganda with a focus on the solutions.
