MATTHEWS is a K-12 science educator at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, where she incorporates as much natural history as possible into each of her science methods courses. Dr. Matthews has published practitioner articles for teachers in Science & Children, Science Scope, The Science Teacher, Science Activities, and American Biology Teacher.JOHN CONNORS began his scientific career at age 10 … recording food preferences of birds at his backyard feeder. He spent 17 years as Raleigh, North Carolina's City Naturalist before coming to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in 1997 to be the coordinator of its Naturalist Center. Mr. Connors is an adjunct instructor of parks, recreation, and tourism curriculum at North Carolina State University, where he teaches outdoor recreation. He was the immediate past president of his local Audubon chapter.
