Abstract

The requirement for many controllers has a feedback loop in their operation. Sometimes it is impractical and costly also to measure all states. An observer has this specialty to estimate the states of the system and remove the need of measuring it. Luenberger Observer and Sliding Mode Observer are the types of observers used to estimate the states of the system. As a control engineer, it is the cream of the crop to deal with control laws that should provide desired performance to the closed loop system in the presence of disturbances also. Sliding mode control provides this advantage of robustness among different controllers. In this paper, the Response of Luenberger Observer based Sliding Mode Control has been compared with the response of Sliding Mode Observer based sliding Mode Control for 3 DOF Helicopter system.
