Abstract

One of the most common proposals to deal with the control of delayed systems is the Smith Predictor. This strategy allows estimating the signal of interest before it is delayed. Once the signal of interest has been estimated, it can be used later in the control stage for the delay-free system. As is well known, the Smith Predictor is restricted to stable systems. In the present work, a control strategy based on an observer-predictor scheme for unstable high-order systems with time delay is proposed. Likewise, an injection scheme is presented that will be used in the design of the observer-predictor scheme and analysis in the frequency domain that allows obtaining necessary and sufficient stability conditions.
