Abstract

We have observed a frequency-domain photodetachment spectrum from trapped ${\mathrm{O}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ in a magnetic field. The structure observed near threshold shows clear modulation of the relative detachment cross section due to the departing electron's discrete cyclotron levels. The current results are shown to corroborate the experimental results from a previous time-domain investigation, and a value for the ${}^{16}\mathrm{O}$ electron affinity is reported.
