Abstract

Observations about Etna broom in Corsica : Genista aetnensis (Biv.) DC. subsp. fraisseorum subsp. nova. Genista aetnensis is a well-known species from Sicily and Sardinia. Recently discovered in Corsica (1961) it has been considered introduced. On the contrary, based on morphology, ecology and distribution of populations, we claim that Corsican trees represent a new subspecies described hereafter. This endemic taxon is threatened by habitat destruction.
