In dogs and cats, the physical examination of the l iver provides limited data from an early diagnosis of the hepatic diseases. It is established that in man y liver diseases the apparition of clinical signs c orresponds more often to some serious injuries of the hepatic tissu e. The aim of this study was to compare the sensiti vity for two methods used in paraclinical assessment of the live r diseases: the ultrasonography and laboratory di agnosis. The researches were performed on 10 dogs from different breeds, age and sex. By the paraclinical metho ds above-mentioned were diagnosed the following hepatic diseases: hepatic abscesses, chronic cholecystitis, hepatic cirrhosis, hepatic neoplasms (hemangiosarco ma, lymphoma), congenital abnormalities of gallblad der (septate gallbladder), cholelithiasis and gallbladder polypus.
