Abstract

In the Spring of 1925 Dr. John K. Small organized a trip through the south-central states, in preparation for his forthcoming flora of that region, and the writer went along to aid in collecting ecological data. We traveled by automobile, and received mail at various points along the way. On arriving in Austin, Texas, one evening in mid-April, I was glad to find among my forwarded correspondence a letter from Mr. Weatherby, in which were included the following remarks:
