Abstract

SUMMARYThe toxicity of organo‐mercury fungicides to sugar‐beet seed increased with the amount added and with the moisture content of the seed. Methyl mercury dicyandiamide was more phytotoxic than the less volatile ethyl and phenyl mercury compounds tested. In a bioassay for organo‐mercury fungicides on seeds, the area of inhibition decreased when moist treated seed was stored in airtight containers.
