Abstract
The growth of the pollen tube of the avocado cv Fuerte, was followed by means of fluorescence microscopy. Hand-pollinated flowers were examined at different times after pollination. The entrance of the pollen tube into the ovule and into the embryo sac was photographed, as were also some cases of faulty growth of the pollen tube which occurred in the style and in the ovule.
