Abstract
The literature relating to lower lobe tuberculosis is reviewed and a further series of 30 patients is reported. The evidence presented supports the theory that lower lobe tuberculosis is a manifestation of progressive primary tuberculosis in young adults and is caused by ulceration of a lower lobe bronchus by caseous mediastinal glands.
