Abstract

Summary The rate of adhesion to, and ease of separation from glass, in vitro, of a strain of cells was determined at various times after treatment with enzymes. The results show that at different times following enzyme treatment, cells from the same suspension culture exhibit different patterns of attachment and detachment from controls. These experiments on a model system suggest that cellular regeneration following tissue disaggregation procedures may well affect cell segregation in vitro, which is dependent on cellular adhesion and separation.
