Abstract

A configuration of interstellar neutral hydrogen, suggested earlier to he in the form of sheets is examined in more detail, by using both the 21-cm radio data and optical spectra of stars in that region of the sky showing interstellar absorption lines. We conclude that the sheets are fairly thin, with a thickness of the order of less than 10 pc, and that they are approaching each other and are in fact colliding supersonically in one region.
