M. ; Johnston, K. J. ; Spencer, J. H. ; Schwartz, P. R. Abstract Results are presented for observations of the SiO and H2O masers toward Orion A, which were made in the v = 1, J = 1-0 transition of SiO at 43,122.0 MHz and in the 6(16) - 5(23) transition of H2O at 22,235.08 MHz. It is found that the spectrum of the SiO maser contains at least nine distinct features having widths of about 1 km/s, that all these features are coincident to within + or - 2 arcsec, and that the SiO maser lies closest to a compact source in the Kleinmann-Low nebula. The H2O spectrum is shown to contain at least 16 features with widths of 1 km/s, all but one of which are distributed in an elongated region about 20 arcsec in length whose major axis is parallel to an ionization edge observable in the radio continuum. The results also indicate that the H2O features having velocities close to those of the SiO features are located in a small cluster about 2 arcsec in diameter, which supports the concept that the SiO maser and the H2O masers with velocities of about -6 and +15 km/s are dynamically related to the same object.
