Abstract

We present multiwavelength observations of the high‐frequency peaked blazar 1ES 2344+514 from October 2007 to January 2008. Very high energy (VHE) γ‐ray observations with VERITAS resulted in strong detections on several nights, showing nightly variability in the integral flux above 300 GeV Near simultaneous X‐ray observations with RXTE PCA and Swift XRT revealed moderately correlated flux variability between the X‐ray and VHE γ‐ray bands. Swift UVOT and XRT observations showed a significant shift to higher synchrotron peak energies at increased peak fluxes. Results are discussed from Synchrotron Self‐Compton modeling of the near‐simultaneous UV to TeV γ‐ray spectral energy distributions.
