Abstract

The 1997–98 warm ENSO event is one of the strongest on record. There are several signatures of this event which have been observed in at the Manus Island ARM site. These signatures have been observed in several different data streams including the solar radiation, water vapor column and rainfall measurements. These observations are presented along with a look ahead at what can be expected at forthcoming ARM TWP sites.
