Abstract

Interesting reflected and re-radiated ultrasonic waves from a plane liquid-solid interface have been observed using a cylindrical transducer and a pulsed schlieren system. The reflected cylindrical waves show variations in amplitudes as a function of angle. Plane waves, apparently re-radiated into the liquid by surface waves propagating along the interface, have also been observed by an optical technique.
