Abstract

Abstract Algae whose microstructures are preserved occur in Cambrian limestones of the Carteret region, France. Some, such as species belonging to Girvanella, occur in different kinds of limestones; others, including Nephelostroma lecomptei n.g. n.sp. and Epiphyton fasciculatum, have constructed stromatolitic beds. Systematic descriptions are given.
