A. ; Schraml, J. ; Wilson, R. W. Abstract We present an experimental limit to the small-scale anisotropy of the microw~ve background at 3.5 mm. This upper limit corresponds to an rms variation in antenna temperature of 0.024° K observed with an effective beam size of 1.4 X 1O~ square degree. From this result we conclude that the discrete- source models presented in a recent paper by Wolfe and Burbidge require a source density at least as great as that for all observed galaxies in order to explain the microwave background Publication: The Astrophysical Journal Pub Date: July 1969 DOI: 10.1086/180382 Bibcode: 1969ApJ...157L..49P full text sources ADS |
