Abstract

Children's drawings have a universal appeal. We all enjoy looking at their drawings of parents with green and orange hair or the blob labelled ‘mummy’. These imaginative interpretations of the world form an important stage in children's development. However, children also need to learn to see things as they really are and how to make accurate observations of their environment. Close observation work is a method of developing visual awareness in the framework of art and craft sessions.
