Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical outcomes of foot bath with ginger and vinegar and wine in the treatment of patients with refractory diabetic foot gangrene. Methods The study design was a randomized, controlled trial. 126 patients with refractory diabetic foot gangrene were divided into observation and control groups. Foot bath with ginger and vinegar and wine were adopted in observation group and foot bath with 1:5 000 furacilin solution were adopted in control group on the basis of basic treatment and debridement, and the clinical outcomes were evaluated. Results Total effective rate in observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P= 0.003). Amputation rate in observation group was fewer than that of control group(P= 0.036). The average cure duration in observation group was shorter than that of control group(P= 0.025). Conclusion Foot bath with ginger and vinegar and wine is effective in the patients with refractory diabetic foot gangrene.
