Abstract
Photographic data received from the LANDSAT-1 (ERTS-1) satellite on 2 November 1972 while over the Java Sea revealed an anomalous ocean feature extending to the northwest from Pulu Bawean (Bawean Island). The cause of this feature is discussed and compared to similar features in the lee of the Lesser Antilles Islands and in the Red Sea.
