Abstract
AbstractFour‐photon spectra of the induced coherent rotations of H2O, D2O and HDO molecules on its selective rotational transition in bulk liquid have been observed for the first time. We have measured the rotational spectra of distilled water (H2O) and 1:1 H2O/D2O mixture in the range 30–40 cm−1. We have identified the ortho‐ /para‐spin‐isomer lines in both the isotopic liquids. The application of this technique to the study of spin‐selective interactions of water molecules with biopolymers and nano objects is discussed. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
